The fresh frozen tissueFresh frozen tissue technique was initially used for eyelid tumorsEyelid tumors, and since its introduction, it has revolutionized the way Mohs surgeryMohs surgery is performed. It has rapidly expanded beyond eyelid tumorsEyelid tumors and is now used in several anatomical locations, including the eyelidEyelid, nose, ear, and genitals. ReconstructionReconstruction can occur immediately after complete histological removal of the tumor, which in most instances occurs on the same day. Additionally, the fresh-tissue technique is less painful and quicker, and conserves more tissue than the fixed-tissue technique. This chapter details the introduction as well as how to perform the fresh-tissue technique.
