Case Study Analysis—Group A: Yunshe and Zhaisha

The case of Yunshe is often regarded as a successful example of cultural tourism development rooted in its heritage resources, despite the transformations in its historic character and the commodification of its cultural assets (Fig. 5.1). However, an in- depth analysis of the heritage-led development process reveals the involvement of multiple stakeholders, each playing a distinctive role in shaping the short-term strategy to exploit the village's heritage for development. First, the entrepreneurialism of the county government was identified as a key driver in this process.
