Low back pain is considered one of the work-related musculoskeletal disorders with the greatest impact on the health of healthcare professionals and is considered the leading cause of disability worldwide. It also reduces quality of life and increases costs for professionals, organizations and society. The aim of this study is to assess the risk of exposure to the development of lumbar injury among healthcare professionals in an Integrated Continued Care Unit. This is an observational, cross-sectional and descriptive study, carried out in an Integrated Continuing Care Unit which includes two services (a long-term care and maintenance unit and a medium-term care and rehabilitation unit) during the month of January 2023. The evaluation instrument was the Movement and Assistance of Hospital Patients Index. The results of this study allow us to infer that the level of risk exposure of healthcare professionals to the development of low back pain is high (5.34). In view of the above, it is imperative to define and implement strategies, providing a therapeutic and safe environment, adapting and managing the organizational resources needed to improve the quality of life of professionals and the care provided.
