Progress in the deployment of distance learning has accelerated in recent years. Almost every teacher today needs to solve the issue to some extent. Therefore, it is necessary to simplify the related processes even when a remote access should be achieved for a newly built or installed hardware equipment. Corresponding is the situation at our university institute dealing with the fields of electrical engineering, measurements, technical diagnostics. Work with the CAN bus is required in several subjects taught and remote access to a special CAN system was requested. For this purpose, we used our experience in developing a remote access system based on application pairs. In this article we describe the current structure and functionality of this modular system after latest improvements and inclusion of the didactic CAN workplace. We explain the process of adding remote access to the workplace. Thanks to the modular software system architecture, it is enough to modify one module of paired applications without knowledge of web publishing tools. A user receives access via any standard web browser. Finally, we collected feedback from students on such a teaching aid.
