The Role of Tourism Clustering in Achieving ESG Principles in the Republic of Armenia

Tourism is considered a significant sector of the global economy. The development of the tourism sector should be oriented towards promoting sustainable development and achieving ESG principles. Clustering serves as a means for tourism advancement. Tourism clusters refer to a localized grouping of interconnected businesses, organizations, and infrastructure in a particular destination, working collaboratively to enhance the competitive development of the tourism sector. They can also help achieve ESG principles in case of good planning. The main goal of this research is to explore the possibility of tourism development in Armenia via clustering to achieve ESG principles. The primary methods employed in the research include data collection, analysis, synthesis, and benchmarking. The authors discussed the current state of tourism in Armenia and opportunities for tourism development in the context of clustering. The authors formulated a model of a tourism cluster, encompassing all stakeholders involved in developing tourism. Moreover, the authors summarized the main directions of ESG principles that may be achieved via clusters. The results may be used for tourism development policies to create tourism clusters integrated with ESG principles.
