The protracted conflicts in parts of Nigeria that uptight its stability have generated a lot of interventions. Governments, military, para-military, community vanguards, non-governmental organisations and civil societies are putting efforts together at various levels to restore and rebuild peace in the affected communities in Northeast Nigeria. These actors have recognised the position of the media in this pursuit for sustainable peace in and thus utilise the platforms in this regard. There is an observed tilt towards utilising indigenous media in the quest for sustainable peace as avenues that connect the communities more than the multinational media corporations. This chapter utilises the Library Research Method to examine existing literature to identify the types of Indigenous media being utilised, the strategic approaches, and the involvement of communities in the media and discuss the general implications towards the quest for sustainable peace in Nigeria. The chapter is guided by the propositions of the Development Media Theory as the theoretical framework. The chapter is segmented into five key sections. After the introduction, the chapter examines the Indigenous media landscape, conflicts and quest for sustainable peace, strategic peacebuilding approaches through the indigenous media, community involvement in peacebuilding through indigenous media and the way forward.
