Structural Health Monitoring of Building Using Non-destructive Test Sensors a Review
摘要
Structural Health Monitoring plays an important role in ensuring the safety of buildings. This study employed a variety of Non-Destructive Techniques such as visual Inspection, rebound hammer & ultrasonic pulse velocity, geo radar, thermography, geo radar scanning, Sonic tests, and sensors such as Fiber Optic Sensors and capacity Stress Sensors (CSS) to monitor the buildings. Sensors provide real-time data collection which helps us to manage and maintain the building over a long period. Many papers have been published regarding this between 2012 and 2023. This paper summarizes the use of sensors and various techniques used for SHM of buildings. This paper provides an extensive examination of previously published studies encompassing both static and dynamic investigations on Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of structures. The paper includes damage detection of buildings through sensor placement, to check if the building can withstand harsh environmental conditions. To guarantee the longevity and dependability of buildings, this study highlights the significance of sensor technology and nondestructive testing in SHM.
