摘要

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology asdvancements in recent years have drastically lowered the price of aerial photography. Drone-based mapping applications are therefore becoming more and more commonplace. Compared to satellite imaging, drone photos may be used to quickly and accurately create digital maps of specific terrain formations, down to a few centimeters. The purpose of this article is to highlight the benefits of drone-based photogrammetry over satellite image technology. Then prospects for aerial 3D mapping are mentioned stepwise using image processing software. A case study of a tunnel excavation site is highlighted in this research article. The result shows that drone-based photogrammetry is a very good option for developing 3D maps of excavation sites within a short time. Drone aided mapping is mentioned stepwise using image processing software. A case study of a tunnel excavation site is highlighted in this research article. The result shows that drone-based photogrammetry is a very good option for developing 3D maps of excavation sites within a short time.
