Effect of Sugarcane Juice and Its Products on the Setting Time of Cement When Used as Admixtures
摘要
Concrete is mostly used in building construction and large-scale projects all around the world. Sand, aggregate, cement, and water are the ingredients of concrete. The admixture is used to enhance the qualities of concrete in addition to these components. The main factor in hardening or setting is cement. Hydration, which happens as a result of cement and water reacting chemically, leads to hardening. It is crucial to modify the setting process's pace in order to accommodate the unique requirements and weather circumstances. Chemical admixtures are used to achieve this goal. Therefore, Cement's initial setting time can be increased or decreased by using chemical admixtures such as retarders or accelerators. In construction projects, chemical admixtures are often used to improve the properties of concrete. Contrarily, chemical admixtures pose a risk to human health as well as the environment. Sugarcane is completely natural, has no negative environmental impact, and is completely safe for humans. In this study, the effect of using sugarcane juice and its products as organic admixtures on cement setting time is investigated.
