In recent times, there has been a noticeable rise in the frequency of seismic events, leading to the collapse or damage of numerous structures. The primary goal of this project is to enhance building resilience through earthquake-resistant structures. To mitigate structural damage during earthquakes, the base isolation system is widely adopted and employed globally. In this literature survey, experienced shows that regular structures perform really good as compare to irregular structures. Braces and shear walls, however these practices made the structure heavier. The Lead Rubber Bearing represents an innovative form of earthquake-resistant rubber bearing. It is created by incorporating a lead core into a standard laminated rubber bearing, combining vertical support, horizontal displacement, and hysteric damping within a unified unit. Lead rubber bearing such base isolation mechanisms are designed to separate the superstructure from the foundation, thereby enhancing the structural response to dynamic forces. This approach involves used specialized bearings that are installed between the building’s foundation and its lower portion. This review consolidates existing literature and theoretical perspectives on base isolation systems. Some papers explore the efficacy of various isolators and their suitability. The primary objective of this paper is to delve into the foundations of isolators and offer practical guidelines for making informed choices among the numerous available options.
