Since the Second Vatican Council, there has been widespread publication of new liturgical compositions for use at Mass, especially the Entrance and Communion processions, to replace the singing of the liturgical propersPropers. It appears, however, that composers and publishers of liturgical music are revisiting the singing of the propers in order to foster renewed participationParticipation by the people in the liturgy.
