Therapeutic Game for People with Stroke Sequelae Using Kinect from Xbox 360 to Windows
摘要
Cerebrovascular disease is a leading cause of disability and death worldwide, with a significant impact in middle- and low-income countries. In Mexico, 17,776 deaths from cerebrovascular accidents were recorded in the first half of 2023. This study uses a mixed, cross-sectional, and descriptive approach to evaluate the effectiveness of a Therapeutic Game using Kinect Xbox 360 in post-stroke rehabilitation. It is anticipated that the Therapeutic Game will improve motor and cognitive functionality in post-stroke patients. The presented study provides preliminary evidence that Kinect-based therapeutic games could be a useful tool for rehabilitation. However, we think that further studies are needed to evaluate the effectiveness of these games and to identify areas for improvement. It is important to consider the needs and preferences of potential users when developing and improving these games.
