From July 1902, the focus of attention shifted away from the University Court and Convocation, and towards the Privy Council. A series of petitions were submitted to the Privy Council from a wide range of interested parties, including the University, the individual Colleges, the graduates, local authorities, and learned societies. In December, the situation was considered by the Council leading to a pivotal decision that would lead to the end of the Victoria University as a federal institution.
