The chapter presents a method of assessing the probability of safety of operation of the ship, taking into account its structure and dynamics. An integrated approach to safety assessment is being considered, taking into account various aspects such as navigational, technological, technical and environmental safety. The dynamic nature of security is emphasized, which changes under the influence of various factors at the level of individual flight and company as a whole. The structure of ship safety states is presented taking into account possible combinations of states of the safety components. The proposed method is based on Markov processes and allows to evaluate the probability of different ship safety states during operation.
