Strategies for the Convergence of Green Management and Digital Transformation in the Forest Service of Greece
摘要
The convergence of Green Management and Digital Transformation is a critical factor for improving efficiency and sustainability in Public Forest Services. This paper examines the factors that enable this convergence in the Greek Forest Service, through a survey of 232 senior officials. The research questions focus on understanding the degree of knowledge and acceptance of Green Management and Digital Transformation, as well as identifying the factors that influence their effective convergence. The results show that the majority of officials consider Digital Transformation essential for a successful green transition, while the level of knowledge about Green Management remains limited. The correlation between the two strategies is positive, and their implementation contributes to more efficient forest management, reducing environmental impacts, and improving accountability, transparency, and services provided to citizens. Despite recognized challenges, such as resistance to change and the lack of digital skills, the research confirms the potential of converging these two strategies, offering a new framework for sustainable and technologically innovative forest management.
