Spreading of Mekong River Waters to the South China Sea
摘要
This chapter presents the results of studies by the Institute of Oceanography (Nha Trang) of seasonal and inter-annual variability in the runoff of the Mekong River into the South China Sea from 1997 to 2022. The scale of this variability is assessed. The coastal bathymetry, tides, and monsoon circulation along the southeastern and southern coasts of Vietnam are found to be the main factors of the Mekong flow variability.
