Artificial Neurons and Deep Learning

Real biological neurons form networks through synapses and learn. In a similar way their artificial counterparts form networks that can be trained to perform certain tasks. The neuron involves inputs and outputs and a central nonlinear part that helps selection of possibilities. Deep neural networks with several hidden layers are able to perform complex tasks that simpler neuron connections cannot. Artificial intelligence grew out of the construction and study of artificial neural networks.
