This chapter addresses the question of why mature forms of agriculture and well-organized states emerged suspiciously late in the world’s CW-areas and why, once this did happen, the CW-Condition redirected and accelerated further societal development towards the triple emancipatory outcome of industrialization, individualization and democratization.
