Conclusion
摘要
This chapter discusses the broader implications of our CW-Theory for the understanding of human nature and the logic of the civilization process, pinpointing democracies’ inherent advantage over autocracies in unleashing intrinsic human motivations and mass-scale civic energies to the benefit of an indiscriminate pursuance of the common good. From an evolutionary perspective, we argue that the fertility-to-schooling (“quantity breeding” to “quality building”) shift in our species’ lifetime investments and the mass-scale psychological awakening following from it is an evolutionary advantageous process because it capitalizes on the human qualities with the greatest reality-shaping power: cognition, imagination, motivation and initiative—in short, individuality.
