Cellular Therapies: From a Theoretical Concept to an Immuno-augmented Reality
摘要
Cellular therapies have emerged as a transformative approach in the treatment of various diseases, demonstrating their potential as a powerful tool in modern medicine. These therapies, which involve the transplantation of living cells to replace or repair damaged tissues and organs, have led to remarkable outcomes in conditions that were once deemed untreatable. From regenerative medicine to cancer immunotherapy, cellular therapies have provided new avenues for clinical interventions, showcasing significant success in improving patient outcomes. However, alongside these successes, there have also been notable setbacks. In this chapter, we present a comprehensive overview of the historical development of cellular therapies and their progress over the years. We also highlight key breakthroughs, ongoing challenges, recent innovations, as well as the regulatory frameworks that ensure the safety and efficacy of these therapies.
