The concept of circular supply chain business models integrates sustainability into corporate operations, aiming to minimize environmental impact and optimize resource use. This study explores the circularity concept by examining strategies such as reducing waste, reusing materials, and recycling products, structured under the 9Rs framework: Refuse, Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Refurbish, Remanufacture, Repurpose, Recycle, and Recover. These strategies provide a hierarchy for sustainable business practices, though their effectiveness remains debatable due to insufficient empirical support. The study emphasizes the challenges industrial companies face in implementing circular business models, such as aligning operational limitations with available resources and capabilities. The paper presents three circularity-related strategies: keeping ownership of the product (RPO), extending product life (PLE), and designing for recycling (DFR), and discusses their implications for supply chain resilience and economic viability within the framework of the circular economy.
