Global value chains have emerged and international trade has increased dramatically as a result of globalization. The notion of circular economy (CE) has attracted substantial interest recently among scholars, practitioners, and regulators due to the tremendous waste generated at all phases of a product life cycle. CE acts as alternate answers to the current linear economic model of manufacturing and consumption. Circular supply chain management (CSCM) is the term used to describe the integration of the CE into Supply Chain management. In light of this, solutions utilizing industry 4.0 technologies are recognized as essential to the effective advancement of the circular economy. Industries are focusing more towards circular supply chain as it has many benefits for all with a downside to financial investment. Many organisations and research institutes are coming up with a framework to implement Industry 4.0 in their supply chain. In this chapter the importance and impact of CSCM and their importance in achieving sustainability is discussed.
