In this chapter a combination of type-3 fuzzyType-3 fuzzy logicFuzzy logic and the fractal dimensionFractal dimension (FD) is employed for leukemiaLeukemia cancer diagnosisCancer diagnosis. Leukemia is cancer of blood. FD is utilized to characterize the geometrical properties in the blood cells of a patient. A type-3 fuzzyType-3 fuzzy system is employed to represent the knowledge of experts in diagnosis. In this case, type-3 helps in representing the uncertaintyUncertainty in making a medical diagnosis. Results with a dataset of cases show the effectiveness of the approach.
