Legal Issues of Personal Data Protection in the Electronic Space Related to Tourists’ Data
摘要
Legal issues related to the protection of personal data in the digital space, especially tourist data, are related to compliance with data protection regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This includes obtaining the express consent of individuals before collecting their data, ensuring the security and confidentiality of that information, and implementing measures to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure. Organizations handling tourist data must implement data protection policies and procedures to protect the personal information of tourists, such as encryption, limited access controls and regular auditing of data processing activities. Failure to comply with these rules can result in significant fines and legal consequences. This study aims to assess legal issues of personal data protection in the electronic space related to tourists’ data. The interview method was used to achieve the research results. The study was conducted in 2024. The research findings show that it is very important for the tourism sector to implement appropriate technologies and processes that ensure the protection and storage of personal data in the electronic space.
