Ecotourism is a unique way to spend time in nature, get to know various species of plants and animals, and at the same time contributes to environmental protection. Ecotourism is an important expression of the individual’s right to a clean and safe environment, as the principles of ecotourism are based on the ideas of sustainability, responsible traveler behavior and improving the well-being of nature and residents. Ecological tourism plays an important role both in the national and international tourism business, in the hospitality industry, and can also be understood as an expression of a person’s right to a clean and safe environment. According to the forecast of the World Tourism Organization, in the twenty-first century, the tourism business will grow faster and income from tourism will make a significant contribution to the country’s economy, and at the same time will contribute to the development of a clean and sustainable environment. Great hopes are placed on ecological tourism, with the help of which natural and cultural-historical tourist resources will be rationally used and mass tourist flows will be directed in a planned way, ensuring the natural and constitutional right of individuals to a safe and clean environment. In this study, 24 experts from 2 countries (Lithuania and Turkiye) were asked about their opinions about the impact of ecotourism on the individual’s access to a clean and healthy environment and the answers were analyzed. According to the answers, it has been determined that area management has not yet been implemented within a clear framework and that there is an unclear division of responsibilities in the areas. All experts expressed their opinions regarding the protection of the sites, and all opinions were combined and grouped. In existing ecotourism areas, the participation factor is emphasized for conservation priority and awareness-raising activities.
