Human rights and economic development are two fundamental components that intersect and are crucial to achieving a just and equitable society. Recognising economic rights as a fundamental human right is essential and is protected by international law. In Tanzania, where more than 3.3 million people have disabilities, the journey towards economic development is intrinsically linked to the protection and improvement of the economic rights of all citizens, including those with disabilities.
