An Approach to Sustainable Energy Management in IoV Using Blockchain and the Metaverse

This paper investigates the potential of the Metaverse to enhance the sustainability of energy usage through the integration of blockchain technology and the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). Using the decentralized, immutable, and transparent characteristics of blockchain, we explore how these technologies can optimize energy transactions and Demand Response Management (DRM) strategies, between virtual Electric Vehicles (EVs) and energy systems. The Metaverse serves as a platform for testing, enabling the simulation and validation of these energy management technologies. The proposed approach highlights the capacity to transform sustainability practices by promoting the incorporation of technological advances in both virtual and real-world environments.
