Despite changes in the understanding of heritageHeritage in recent years, researchers’ attention is still focused on searching for digital tools to improve and make the heritage educationHeritage education process more attractive, responding to the needs of generations Z and Alpha, who live simultaneously with the world of technology. Authors’ experience indicates numerous problems among students in interpreting the symbolism and meaning of heritageHeritage during theoretical, practical and field classes. The authors seek answers to two questions: How do young generations understand cultural heritageHeritage? What will young people incline to strive to preserve it in the future and why? The authors will present the results of research on the perception of heritageHeritage and education for it by: primary school pupils from the generation AlphaGeneration alpha and tourism and geography students from generation ZGeneration Z, who may create the educational and economic dimension of cultural heritageHeritage in the future. In 2023/2024, qualitative research was carried out using the diagnostic survey method. The results were analysed using the semantic field method and a relationship grid. The research showed the perception of heritageHeritage and its education by young generations. Conclusions from the obtained research results may serve the future developmentDevelopment of “heritage educationHeritage education in geographical educationGeographical education.
