摘要

In recent years, there has been a notable increase in the implementation of Healthcare Monitoring Systems (HCS) in various healthcare facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes. Developments in IoT and blockchain technologies have transformed the way this acceptance has been implemented. Advancements in IoT sensors have resulted in the creation of healthcare systems capable of efficiently tracking patients’ health conditions, prompting numerous nations to strengthen their support for these care systems overseen by doctors with access to patient data. Combining blockchain technology with Internet of Things (IoT) systems offers a hopeful solution for tackling security, privacy, and operational efficiency obstacles in IoT networks. This chapter delves into this integration, highlighting the benefits of hardware-assisted blockchain. Significant latency, energy efficiency, and throughput improvements are demonstrated by leveraging advanced hardware technologies such as ASICs, FPGAs, and secure elements. Despite encountering some technical hurdles, our proposed architecture showcases the immense promise of this fusion. The research underscores how hardware-supported blockchain can revolutionize IoT, ensuring efficient and secure data management across various applications.
