Hydrometallurgical extractionExtraction of rhodiumRhodium is very challenging as it forms strongly hydrated and kinetically inert complexes in aqueous solution. In our research, rhodiumRhodium was extracted from aqueous chloride mediaChloride media using some commercial ion-exchangeIon-exchange resins, such as Sumichelate MC-10 and Diaion WA10/WA21/SA20A/SA21A, as well as bio-based adsorbents such as crosslinked Fe-oxine and Cu(II)-templated chitosans. The results are promising which will be discussed and compared in this paper. Stripping of rhodiumRhodium from loaded resins/bioadsorbents was carried out using hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and sulfuric acid containing some oxidizing agents like H2O2, HNO3, NaClO3, and NaClO where the hydrochloric acid solutionAcid solutions containing sodium chlorate (NaClO3) showed the maximum stripping of rhodiumRhodium.
