Although there has been focus given in comics studies to questions of space, the production of places by comics text remains underexamined. This article examines three Australian comics texts and using the lenses of “braiding” (Groensteen) and “assemblage” (Peterle) discusses their deployment of place-production in the context of the “Australianizing” of comics traditions and genres originating elsewhere in the world.
