It is very important to understand the socio-economic and ecological impacts of changes in land use and land cover (LULC) in an area. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the temporal changes of LULC in Aceh Province (2017–2021). Based on Sentinel Satellite Imagery, the quantification data for each LULC category is obtained from ESRI. Subsequently, reclassification was carried out until the area of each land use category was obtained according to the analysis needs for 2017–2021. This was carried out after previously completing a clip for the delineation of the Aceh Province region. The area of each LULC category is obtained after converting the data from raster to vector. Meanwhile, GIS technology and remote sensing are required in this LULC analysis. The climate classification during 2010–2021 was analyzed using the Schmidt Ferguson method based on rainfall grouped into wet and dry months. The analysis results found that two categories decreased in quantity, namely woodland and grassland, with a decrease of 0.01% and 0.21% per year, respectively. The built-up area category experienced a significant increase, at 0.12% per year, in line with the increase in population and urbanization. Also, cropland experienced an increase of 0.13% in four years, a change from grassland and woodland. The results of the climate classification showed a climatic change from wet to rather wet criteria.

摘要
