The Bundelkhand craton is one of the oldest remnants of Earth’s crust having recorded the geological evidence of the evolution of the primitive crust. The semicircular body extending over about 29,000 km2 consists of (i) the highly deformed oldest rock (TTG and greenstone rocks) (3.59–3.20 and 2.7 billion years) (ii) the less deformed older rocks (K-rich granite and quartz reefs; ~2.5–2.0 billion years) and (iii) the undeformed younger rocks (different phases of mafic dykes) (~2.37, 2.0–1.7, 1.53, 1.46 and 1.1 billion years). Bundelkhand craton preserves some of the important geological features, which can be developed as geotourism sites, namely, Palaeoarchean granite-greenstone rocks (~3.59 Ga), Dhala impact structures, one of the oldest impact structures on Earth, orbicular granite, rare granitic rock, spectacular giant quartz reefs intruded in the entire craton and the Eparchaean unconformity (contact between Bundelkhand granite and Vindhyan Supergroup of rocks) Archean-Proterozoic boundary.
