During early Permian time, dramatic climatic and palaeogeographic changes took place in the Earth’s evolutionary history. These phenomenons have been preserved globally in the wide apart localities at the base of Gondwana sequences. Among these, the prime locations of Indian peninsula are Dudhinala Section in Jharkhand and Manendragarh in Chhattisgarh exhibit signatures of marine incursions during 290 Ma ago.
