Biblical promises from past centuries cannot justify territorial claims but a general insight: land ownership and the coexistence of different ethnic groups in a country are bound to observance of the law. The vision of universal law gave the prophets hope for an immigration of all peoples and their coexistence. Despite all current conflicts and in contradiction to all anti-Semitism, Israel and Judaism are associated with the hope of peace among nations, which today must embrace different religions. According to G.E. Lessing’s drama “Nathan the Wise”, we call this goal the “Nathan Project”.
