Handicrafts, Fashion, and Sustainability: Possible Connections: A Case Study of the Meroca Sustainable Fashion Brand
摘要
Nowadays, we can no longer think of design without the assumption of sustainability. Somehow, when we design fashion products, we have to think about the pillars of sustainability. This chapter aims to show how we can create and develop a sustainable fashion brand using raw materials from the reuse of discarded fish skins. The tilapia skin is obtained from fish farms in Jaguaribara in the state of Ceará. The brand produces accessories such as bags, belts, jewelry, and other items. It is a brand with a poetic appeal and carries in its DNA simplicity, elegance, and craftsmanship with a distinctive design where each piece is unique and full of meaning. The methodology used was a case study of the Meroca Moda Sustentável brand.
