Attuned to current issues, consumers are aware of environmental concerns, increasingly valuing the sustainability of the products they purchase. To address the ever-changing market research needs, fashion brands seek technological solutions in raw materials, unique approaches, and communications that give them a competitive advantage. The following questions arise: In what way do glasses, as accessories in fashion brands, contribute to creative reinforcement in collections? How is communication handled in sustainable brands? The methodology for developing this research is based on a case study and involves, in the first phase, a bibliographic review to contextualize the concepts underpinning this work. In the second phase, interviews were conducted with three Portuguese fashion designers who used glasses as creative reinforcement in the styling of their collections, presented at the Oasis edition of Lisbon Fashion Week from October 6 to 9, 2022, and at Portugal Fashion SS23, which took place from October 11 to 15, 2022, in Oporto. In the last phase, case studies were analyzed for two brands with glasses, intentionally chosen for their use of sustainable raw materials in creating these fashion accessories. The main objectives of this study are to understand the relevance of glasses as a fashion accessory in the creative reinforcement used by creators and to comprehend the importance for brands to have this styling element in their product portfolios. Another objective of this research is to examine how glasses are communicated in sustainable fashion brands.
