Contribution of Noble Metals in Agriculture
摘要
In this chapter, we will discuss about the noble metal-based nanoparticles in the agriculture system. They can be utilized when they interact with the plants and crops directly. They mostly interact with the roots when they penetrate through soil or mix with the soil water. Mostly nanoparticles are mixed in the water or fertilizer and sprayed on the soil and leaves. When they interact with the plant they modify the properties of the plant. Noble metal-based nanoparticles are utilized as water and nutrient management which will in turn increase the soil fertility and also help in preserving the post-harvest. The water is managed by using 3 techniques including; soil water holding capacity, reducing irrigation, and rainfall runoff. While the post-harvest is preserved through physical, chemical, and other methods. Here, number of nanoparticles is discussed. Gold and silver are also discussed, as Au and Ag particles react with the roots inside the soil and react with DNA of microorganisms and pathogens of the plants. They alter the DNA and kill the bacteria. Copper is easily available because it is cheaper than other NPs. Cu nanoparticles are utilized as nano-fertilizers, which causes the stress tolerance, pest control, soil remediation, and crop monitoring. On the other hand, platinum and palladium are utilized collectively or individually, because they can easily be recycled and also helps in controlling the pests. Most of the insects are not attracted toward plant when they see such type of nanoparticle, because they are very dangerous and highly carbonaceous. The other factors of agriculture through each nanoparticle are discussed in this chapter in detail.
