Modern times come with greater challenges for the society and economy altogether. Anyone nowadays can easily name social issues that are progressively drawing our attention: whether we think of environmental aspects, social inequality, immigration, health care, homelessness, unemployment, racism and so many more, it is where social entrepreneurs step in. As agents of change in the society, entrepreneurs can boldly tackle the world’s most common problems through creating business models which break new ground for social responsibility. However, although we are witnessing a rise in the social enterprises globally, one of the principal obstacles these initiatives face remains access to funding. The objective of this chapter is to explore how social entrepreneurship is encouraged to grow and stay sustainable with the means of sustainable financing. While crowdfunding continues to be the most well-known source of funding for the organizations in question, some other options are available. More focus should be attached to the topic of financing in social entrepreneurship due to the fact that this sector creates significant opportunities both for the issues it addresses to and for the growth of the economy in general. As social entrepreneurs need investments, this chapter unveils the most sustainable financing methods for them.
