Proteomics for Novel Biomarker and Drug Target Discovery in Alzheimer Disease
摘要
With major advances in the technology of liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), the proteomics analyses in Alzheimer disease (AD) have achieved unprecedented depth and breadth in the protein landscape, providing insights into mechanisms, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets of this disease. Here, we introduce progress of this technology, review major reported AD proteomics analyses, summarize potential biomarkers and drug targets, and discuss challenges and possible solutions in this LC-MS/MS-based proteomics approach. With further technical improvements and more targeted experimental designs, this approach will be a powerful tool for the discovery of biomarkers and drug targets for this devastating disease.
