Can a chorded keyboard improve text entry speed for Indian languages? This paper documents a wearable chorded keyboard for the Malayalam language and the longitudinal study conducted to evaluate the performance of the keyboard. We evaluated text entry speed among 18 users across 10 sessions. Our results indicate that participants were able to significantly improve their text entry speeds over time, demonstrating the potential of chorded keyboards for efficient text input in complex scripts. To the best of our knowledge, ours is the first study that evaluates a chorded keyboard for an Indian language.
