Residual subluxation and recurrent dislocation are more likely with associated fracture, fracture of the coronoid in particular. Restoration of radiocapitellar contact with repair or replacement of the fractured radial head and reattachment if the origin of the lateral collateral ligament to the lateral epicondyle often restores stability, but one should be prepared to reattach even small coronoid fractures or apply an internal joint stabilizer or external fixator to ensure healing with concentric reduction.
