The treatment of distal humerus fractures can be challenging, as the complex anatomy of the elbow and achieving anatomic restoration of the ulnohumeral and radiocapitellar joints is often difficult. Small fracture fragments, thin subchondral bone, and poor bone quality can further complicate surgical fixation. The goals of treatment are an anatomic reduction of the articular surface and stable fixation to allow early elbow range of motion in order to restore painless and satisfactory elbow function.

摘要

The treatment of distal humerus fractures can be challenging, as the complex anatomy of the elbow and achieving anatomic restoration of the ulnohumeral and radiocapitellar joints is often difficult. Small fracture fragments, thin subchondral bone, and poor bone quality can further complicate surgical fixation. The goals of treatment are an anatomic reduction of the articular surface and stable fixation to allow early elbow range of motion in order to restore painless and satisfactory elbow function.
