Juray is one of the six varieties of the Sora group of lects which is less studied either from the linguistic point of view or from the perspective of anthropology. The variety is found mainly in the Gajapati district of South Odisha, India. The language is a severely endangered language among the South-Munda group of languages. The language has various interesting grammatical features, which were not documented so far. The present chapter attempts to give a comprehensive description of the ethnolinguistic profile of the language and a few aspects of it noun morphology. The main aim of the chapter is to discuss the linguistic as well as non-linguistic and cultural behaviour of the people who speak the language. Apart from the ethnolinguistic profile, the chapter also highlights the major challenges encountered during the field study. Finally, the chapter concludes by discussing language endangerment issues and steps to be taken for the sustainable development of the language as well as the community.
