Nonoperative Management of Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome

Multiple studies have affirmed the value of preoperative optimization of the surgical patient to improve postoperative results. In the case of median arcuate ligament syndrome (MALS), the disease often travels together with a variety of other complex comorbid conditions. Here, we see a great opportunity to begin the conversation on an algorithmic approach to MALS for the proper selection and perioperative optimization of the patient, to maximize postoperative outcome.
