The Arctic region has enormous potential for extracting mineral and energy resources, especially oil and gas. However, efficient development requires careful and balanced decisions to mitigate environmental impacts and ensure sustainable resource management. To simplify the decision-making process for stakeholders, this paper proposes a top-level ontology for the Arctic oil and gas industry. This ontology will systematize information across multiple domains including geological studies, environmental considerations and social impacts. By creating a structured knowledge base, this ontology will enable stakeholders to analyse complex interdependencies, develop effective management strategies and promote resource development in this delicate ecosystem.
