The article defines the legislative basis for the process of digitalization of Russian agriculture, analyzes the level of digitalization of Russian agricultural organizations, identifies the main directions of digital technologies actively used in the agricultural sector and the level of their implementation in business entities. The article reveals priority software and hardware digitalization tools that are promising for managing energy saving in Russian agriculture, taking into account the specifics of the industry, the material and technical state of agricultural enterprises, the state of the market for Russian and foreign digital technologies, their accessibility, the level of development of Russian science and the innovation sphere. Particular attention is paid to the development of a precision farming system, which is the basis for the rational use of energy capacities and fuels and lubricants in crop production, and the prospects for managing energy saving in greenhouses and the livestock industry are highlighted. The issues of saving water resources and the use of alternative energy sources are touched upon. The main problems of digitalization of agriculture are also identified, which impede the intensification of the process of introducing digital technologies into the agricultural sector, including as part of energy saving management.
