An essential conclusion of the analysis presented in Chap. 6 is that the requirements on the grids imposed for the satisfaction of DMPs for the Galerkin finite element discretizations of diffusion problems are only feasible for \(P_1\) finite element methods. In fact, it is shown that for other alternatives the restrictions are almost impossible to satisfy, especially in three space dimensions.

摘要

An essential conclusion of the analysis presented in Chap. 6 is that the requirements on the grids imposed for the satisfaction of DMPs for the Galerkin finite element discretizations of diffusion problems are only feasible for \(P_1\) finite element methods. In fact, it is shown that for other alternatives the restrictions are almost impossible to satisfy, especially in three space dimensions.
