Characterization of Yellow and Red Clays and Bauxite Residue: Analysis of Properties and Potential for Ceramic Products
摘要
This study aimed to evaluate theCeramics characterizationCharacterization of two claysClays and bauxite residueBauxite residue. The claysClays, designated Yellow ClayClays and Red ClayClays, were subjected to physical, chemical, morphological, thermogravimetric, and differential thermal analysis. The plasticityPlasticity of the claysClays was assessed using the Atterberg method to analyze workability and extrusion properties. The results indicated that all three samples shared similar characteristics, with high contents of silica (SiO2), alumina (Al2O3), and iron oxideOxides (Fe2O3). X-ray diffraction (XRDX-ray Diffraction (XRD)) analysis further revealed the presence of kaoliniteKaolinite and goethiteGoethite in their structures. Based on these findings, the study suggests promising potential for the use of bauxite residueBauxite residue in ceramic blockCeramic block production due to its chemical similarity to the claysClays.
