Sustainable Green Application of Kaolin Ore for Alumina Recovery Based on Lower Temperatures Sintering Process

The current study aims at investigating the green enhancementGreen enhancement of the solid-state reactionsSolid-State Reaction of kaolinKaolin-Na2CO3Na2CO3 mixture during the sintering process by the addition of waste materials containing approximately 70% Na2CO3Na2CO3, and waste carbon anodesCarbon anode. The study focuses on optimizing the sintering process to achieve high aluminaAlumina percent recoveryRecovery percentages and characterizing the resulting aluminaAlumina product. Key evaluation parameters include aluminaAlumina percent recoveryRecovery, silicon content, and the structural and phase composition of the obtained aluminaAlumina. It has been noted that the sintering temperature is significantly reduced from the conventional 1360 °C to an environmentally and economically favorable 800 °C. Overall, this study demonstrates the feasibility of utilizing wasteWaste management materials for aluminiumAluminium industryIndustry, showcasing not only environmentalEnvironmental Impact advantages but also economic benefitsEconomic benefit through the efficient use of resources. Further research is warranted to fully explore the potential applications of the recovered aluminaAlumina and to refine the process for large-scale implementation.
